You can request method of drawing (flash, photoshop, or hand drawn), style (realistic, comic style, anime style, psudeo-comic book a la marvel style), and content (characters, if it's a comic, etc.). Digital art will take signifigantly longer (depending on my tablet's healing ability/when I get a new one). References are welcomed and encouraged. :DDD

Tablet Troubles

My teeny tiny tablet is on the verge of death. It's the first, and only tablet, I've ever owned and I've had it since I started working with digital art (probably about 4 or 5 years ago). It's cable won't connect unless I bend it in all sort of directions and, even then, if I try to tape it in that position, it won't stay on.

So I want to get a new tablet, $300 limit, preferably under $200. I don't need anything big or fancy, just a good, small, reliable tablet (Wacom, preferably). I like the Intuos4 Small and the Medium Bamboo Fun, but really, I'm fine with something cheap, just as long as it will last 4 or 5 years more.

So, what do you guys use? Suggestions? Links?

Working on a web comic for REALZ. I want to go for a more sketchy, cartoony style. Any input? I'm thinking either three or four panels, either length-wise or height-wise. It's going to be slice of life for now.

Inspirations:
Questionable Content-[link]
Over Compensating-[link]

I like the style of those two a lot and want something sort of similar, but not really. Know what I mean?

Thanksgiving is super soon and when I get back home I'm going to be start/finishing my major costume projects.

They will be finished in this order (hopefully):
-Samus (of Metrod Prime fame)
All I have to do is add the pipiing, so this should be super easy.
-Dr. Mrs. The Monarch
Not to bad; I need to get a black leotard and some sweet knee high gold boots, but aside from those, just a stop at the fabric store should do. I'm super excited to do this one (big fan of the Venture Bros) and Ben says he'll go as The Monarch if I do it so...
-Mink (from Dragon Half)
Should be simple if I get my act together. All I really need are a bathing suit bottom and some funnels. And a stuffed dragon from which I can rip the wings and tail off. I'm horrible, I know.
